SurtitlePro is Europe's leading program for surtitles in opera houses and theaters.
Since its first publication in 1986, special attention has been paid to the needs of this new customer group and user. Today, over 30 years later, we have four different versions, all of which are due to technical progress and different requirements. Important features such as emergency function, import of Word files and easy handling are included as standard in all versions.

Brief description of the version differences

Version 6
This means that an almost unlimited number of languages can be represented. It is suitable for use in seating systems, as well as for LED and projection systems.
Version 5
Designed for two languages for synchronous display. Import and export of Word files are possible as part of coordination during the libretto development. The program is designed for seating systems and has a large area for individual advertising on the individual screens or for welcoming VIPs.
Version 4
This is also designed for electronic display systems that are installed for each individual viewer. This version has a Figaro compatible data output.
Version 3
Single-user version for smaller theaters for surtitling in one language.

Clear structure

The menu is clear and logically structured. The user can quickly learn the basics.

  1. Program options such as fade times and control instruments.
  2. Documentation of the last uploads on the displays.
  3. Editing window for live text editing in all languages. The window can be closed when not needed.

  4. Keyword list. All parameters are included for presentation. The individual cues just have to be executed.

Edit

One problem with multilingual translations is coordination with the translators. Most of the time they are not present at rehearsals. For this reason, the operator can write an individual comment on each block of text in any language and record the comments during rehearsals and during proofreading. Only then are the text excerpts exported in the various languages and handed over to the translators for revision. The revised excerpts are then imported back into the program.
