Weatherproof housing "ECO-Protect"

The new ECO-Protect enclosure series is characterized by its compact design, light weight, and attractive price. It has been specially developed for temperate climates, such as Central Europe.

ECO-Protect weatherproof housings are designed for high-brightness, mid-range projectors such as the Panasonic PT-RZ21. Specific projector models are listed on the last page.

A sensor-controlled air control system with integrated electronic controls and heating allows year-round operation without an air conditioner. Even at temperatures as low as -25°C, no condensation forms inside the housing.

ECO-Protect is not suitable for installations located near saltwater or where humidity levels are consistently above 80%. In these cases, we recommend using VICOM COOL-Protect enclosures.

Protects against all external influences

  ECO-Protect enclosures feature 30 mm thick insulation. They are therefore designed to withstand even the most extreme cold.

  Rain

  Special emphasis is naturally placed on water resistance. The long stainless steel feet guarantee that the projector remains dry even in heavy rain.

  Projection is not normally used during the day. The housing ensures sufficient ventilation during the day and supports projection in the evening with appropriately powerful fans.

  Burglary

  The ECO enclosure can be screwed into the floor and features lockable doors and access points.

  ECO-Protect housings are made of metal. This protects the valuable projector even against hail.

Weatherproof housings for projectors and monitors

VICOM weatherproof enclosures are fully climate-controlled protective enclosures for video and data projections and monitors for outdoor use.

Projection systems for extreme outdoor use in advertising and presentations of all kinds are becoming increasingly common. We manufacture weatherproof enclosures that protect these expensive devices from rain, snow, hail, and heat. They are fully climate-controlled and electronically operated.

The image above shows a cinema that projects commercials and trailers onto its own facade. The weatherproof housing is integrated into a decorative glass cube, which also serves as an advertising space.

Protection against

  Cold, frost and snow

  The weatherproof enclosures are self-contained units, thermostat- and processor-controlled. Indoor conditions such as temperature and humidity are constantly monitored. The system reacts immediately to changes and corrects them instantly. Use even in very harsh winters – as shown in the pictures – is a typical application for VICOM weatherproof enclosures.

  Many VICOM weatherproof enclosures are installed in desert regions, such as in Arab countries or Las Vegas. Extreme heat and especially the fine sand pose a particular challenge for our engineers and production.

Design of an all-weather climate-controlled enclosure

VICOM weatherproof enclosures are built using state-of-the-art technology. They meet all technical requirements and protect against all weather conditions.

The outer casing consists of a weatherproof and self-supporting aluminum frame lined with insulating foam. The entire casing can be bolted to a wide variety of surfaces. Doors are lockable, and enhanced vandal and theft protection is available as an option.

A powerful air conditioning system is individually tailored to the projector type and its heat output (BTU/h). It ensures sufficient cooling even on hot days. Heating and dehumidification are controlled by sensors and thermostats.

  An optional windshield wiper is available for the projection window, which automatically regulates its wiping intervals using a rain sensor.

• 

  The high-performance air conditioning system is individually tailored to the projector type and its heat output (BTU/h). It ensures optimal cooling even on hot days and protects the projector and monitor from damage (even when switched off). Heating and dehumidification are controlled by sensors and thermostats.

• 

  Each weatherproof enclosure has a secured electrical box for connecting the projector, but also PC (for digital signage playback), DVD, surveillance equipment, etc.

DustProtect

Protection against dirt, smoke and industrial pollution

DustShield is a protective housing for video and data projectors and displays. It protects against fine dust, smoke, and industrial pollutants in the air.

We analyze the hazards and risks against which the devices need protection and then develop the shape and size of the housing. An automatic, electronic ventilation system is usually used. Air conditioning, auxiliary heating, and dehumidifiers are further options.

Station projectors

TrainProtect is the perfect protective housing for advertising projections in train and suburban train stations. In addition to all-weather protection, these housings offer sufficient protection against the aggressive brake dust from trains.

Additionally, a mechanical shutter system is installed that interrupts the projection beam when trains arrive, so that passengers are not blinded.
